Research Interests

 (1) Behavior ecology and aquaculture: Sexual selection, sex role reversal and feeding, reproductive, mating behavior of seahorses and pipefish are particularly interesting in my team. Seahorse reproduction and juvenile seahorses survivorship are the key study throughout the world, we focused on this field for many years. High demand for them in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) makes us feel very necessary to continue this work.

(2) Biodiversity and genetic structure: The resources of marine fishes have been changed a lot along the China’s coast, and our work aimed to set up effective bases and strategy for the conservation.

(3) Adaptive evolution: Morphology and behavior of each animal present some important information of evolution, with the help of genome, transcriptome, and proteome technology, we focus on the discovery of biological evolution of marine animals.
