程皓研究员主要致力于红树林生态学前沿研究,近年来尤其关注红树林对潮间带极端环境和全球气候变化的响应与维持机制,揭示了红树植物对潮汐厌氧生境的结构与代谢适应机理,发现了红树林抗污拒盐及其质外体运输调控作用,创新性地阐释了红树林碳储和岸滩抗侵蚀新机制。主持和承担国家科技基础资源调查专项、国家重点研发计划、国家自然科学基金等课题十余项,发表论文四十余篇,获海洋工程科学技术奖一等奖、入选首批中科院特聘骨干人才、广东省高层次人才特殊支持计划科技创新青年拔尖人才、珠江科技新星。
