主要从事农田生产力形成与资源环境相互关系调查研究、农田作物高产高效生产模式技术试验示范、区域农业可持续发展评价规划等。承担完成国家科技支撑计划课题、国家973计划课题、国家自然科学基金面上项目和中国科学院农业项目等多项科研任务，集成创新多项适合于黄淮海平原农业可持续高效发展的农田作物种植生产技术体系，在国内外学术期刊发表研究论文70多篇，出版专著1部，获得国家授权发明专利5项。
