GONG ZHANG was born in Xiaogan, China, in 1979. He received the Ph.D. degree in driving technology and intelligent system from Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, in 2009. He ever served as a senior design engineer at Bosch Automotive Products (Changsha) Co., Ltd., from 2009 to 2011. He joined Guangzhou Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011, where he was an Associate Professor in 2015, a deputy director in 2015, a Professor in 2020, and a director in 2021. He undertook a Master's Supervisor in 2019, and a Doctoral Supervisor in 2020 of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main research interests are in multi-robot innovative collaboration and human-robot intelligent collaboration. He has presided over 11 national, provincial and municipal research projects with a total of over CNY 15 million as a principal investigator. He has co-authored more than 114 publications with total times cited 121 and H-index 4, and acquired over 221 pending or issued patents. He was granted Jiangsu Double-Plan Talent, China in 2016, Guangzhou High-Caliber Talent, China in 2018, and Guangzhou Nansha High-Level Talent in 2020.


Research Areas

    His main research interests are in multi-robot intelligent collaboration, human-robot collaborative control, robotic deburring & welding, robot mechanism, automobile motor, electro-hydraulic proportional control, additive manufacturing and artificial intelligence (AI).
