Education

Chengpeng Hao received B.S. (with honors) and the M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from Beijing Broadcasting Institute, Beijing, China, in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in signal and information processing from Institue of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IACAS), Beijing, China, in 2004.

Experience

Since 2004, he has been on the Faculty atInstitue of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IACAS), Beijing, China.
Work Experience
He was an Assistant Professor from 2004 to 2006, and was an associate professor from 2007-1013. Since 2014 he has been a full professor, and since 2015 he has been appointed as the vice director of the State Key Laboratory of Information Technology for Autonomous Underwater vehicles, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2013 to 2014, He has held a visiting position with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Queens University, Kingston, Canada, where he has worked with Prof. Saeed Gazor on adaptive radar detection.

Research Interests

His research interests are in the field of statistical and adaptive signal processing with more emphasis on adaptive radar and sonar detection. He has co-authored more than 50 technical papers, and more than 10 inventation patents of china in this field.

Collaboration

From Feb. 2013 to May 2014, He worked on the topic of adaptive radar detection and range estimation using oversampled data. This research activity has been carried out in cooperation with Dr. Danilo Orlando (ELETTRONICA S.p.A., Rome, Italy) and Dr. Anotonio De Maio's team (University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy). in this research, they jointly exploit the oversampling of the received signal and the spillover of target energy to consecutive range samples to improve the detection and range estimation performances of a point-like target. Both homogenous environment and partially homogenous environment are considered. The results are summarized in:

From Jul. 2013 to Jul. 2014, He has held a visiting position with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Queens University, Kingston, Canada, where he has worked with Prof. Saeed Gazor, Dr. Danilo Orlando and Dr. Goffredo Foglia (ELETTRONICA S.p.A., Rome, Italy) on adaptive radar detection and range estimation for a relatively small target. This research is to use the polarization diversity, the persymmetric property of the disturbance covariance matrix, and the AR model of the disturbance to enhance the detection and range estimation of a relatively small target.
