Research Areas
The main topic is about metallicities, stellar populations and star formation history of galaxies. We are working on the properties of galaxies, including their metallicities, stellar populations and star formation history. We use the ESO/VLT and SDSS spectral data. We also study the multiwavelength spectral energy distribution (SED) of galaxies. The observational data are taken from SDSS optical, 2MASS NIR, GALEX UV and IRAS IR. We study the distant Luminous Infrared Galaxies, large sample of nearby star-forming galaxies, low surface brightness galaxies, host galaxies of GRBs and Supernovae. In addition, we are also working on Galactic Chemical Evolution Model and the chemical abundances of a large sample of barium stars on the basis of their high resolution and high S/N Echelle spectra.
