1968年生,二级研究员,博士生导师,中国科学院大气物理研究所国际气候与环境科学中心、CAS-TWAS气候与环境卓越中心主任。1990年毕业于中国科学技术大学近代力学系,获理学学士学位;1995年毕业于中国科学院大气物理研究所,获理学博士学位。1995年至今在中国科学院大气物理研究所从事科研工作,1999年被聘为副研究员,2002年被聘为研究员(2012年被聘为二级研究员)。期间先后到澳大利亚气象局、香港城市大学、内华达大学拉斯维加斯分校作高级访问学者。现任南方科技促进可持续发展委员会(COMSATS)协调委员会委员、中国科学院-澳大利亚联邦科工组织(CSIRO)战略合作联合指导委员会委员、南京信息工程大学“气象灾害预报预警与评估”协同创新中心首席科学家,以及中国气象学会理事、中国气象学会“热带与海洋气象学委员会”副主任委员、中国气象学会“数值天气预报专业委员会”委员、世界气候研究计划(WCRP)中国国家委员会委员,同时担任学术刊物《Frontiers in Environmental ScienceAssociate Editor、《气候与环境研究》副主编、《大气科学》常务编委、《气象学报》编委等。主要从事地球系统模式研制、气象/水文/沙尘灾害模拟与预测、极端事件规律与机理、陆面-水文-大气过程及相互作用、沙尘-气候相互作用等领域的研究,发表相关论文160余篇。先后主持和参加中国科学院战略性先导科技专项项目、国家科技合作与交流项目、气象行业专项重点项目、国家重点研发计划项目、国家自然科学基金重点、面上和国际合作交流项目等50余项。曾获2005年度国家自然科学二等奖、2006年度全国高等学校科技进步一等奖、2011年度中国科学院杰出科技成就集体奖,享受国务院政府特殊津贴(2008年)。

研究领域

地球系统模式研制及模拟评估、次季节-季度气候与环境灾害预测、陆面水文过程模式研发及数值模拟、沙尘数值模拟与预测及沙尘气溶胶-气候相互作用。
