以极小种群野生植物等濒危植物为对象的保护生物学研究。研究手段包括调查物种种群结构与受威胁状况、研究物种繁殖等更新环节的特征、探索物种遗传多样性与种群遗传分化、参与物种的实地保护工作等。研究目标是解答物种濒危的内外因素、寻求物种有效保护的手段与理论基础。
