Research Areas
1. Solid-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
We focused on the development and application of advanced solid-state NMR spectroscopy, including the development of in situ NMR characterization, and sensitivity enhanced NMR methods, i.e., surface-enhanced dynamic nuclear polarization, parahydrogen induced polarization, etc.
2. Characterization on the fine structure of solid catalysts.
By adopting the surface-sensitive NMR methods, such as DNP, probe-assissted NMR, ect., we tried to attain qualitative and quantitative information on the local structures, acid sites and defective sites...on the surface of oxide based catalysts.
3. Mechanistic study on the catalytic transformation of energy molecules,
We are also interested in the fundmental studies of the activation and transformation of energy molecules, including carbon oxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, methane, water, etc., on the surface of solid catalysts, using majorly ssNMR techniques in combination with other characaterization methods. Based on the indepth understanding on the active sites/ reaction mechanism, we will try to rational design high-efficient catalysts and new catalytic processes.
