General

Dr.Lei Dai specializes in the field of space physics, with a focus on magnetic reconnection, convection, substorms,wave-particle interactions, and radiation belt particle acceleration. Main contributions include developing an analytical model for magnetic reconnection Hall fields, proposing a phenomenological model for direct-driven substorms, and revealing a new pattern of magnnetopshere convection driven by magnetic reconnection.Research results have been featured on the cover of Nature Communications, and highlighted as Spotlight by AGU. Currently, Dr.Lei Dai serves as an editorial board member for Chinese Journal of Space Science, Chinese Journal of Geophysics, and Discover Space. He also holds the position of Chief Engineer for Science Application Systems in the joint Chinese-European SMILE satellite mission and serve as PI for the SMILE Light Ion Analyzer (LIA).
